Reading Section: Vocabulary Quiz
Clear your desk.
Silently take your quiz, then begin your next packet.
Reading Section: Social Media Article
Give students time to Re-read the article and make connections with the text.(second reading)
Make Connections to the text in the margins
Have the students make 7 connections to the text
Explain/demonstrate how they will do this
Use your scanned vocabulary to help you understand.
Speaking Section: Share your connections.
Turn to a person next to you and share two connections you made to the text.
Choose 5 or 6 students to share a connection or two with the class.

Review Nominative, Objective, and Possessive Pronouns

Stop after each scene to give students time to do their scene summaries.
Reading Section: Dialectical Journal
Give students 20 minutes to begin their dialectical journal.
The journal entries will be recorded in notebooks first, then typed or neatly written for the final version (see student samples).
